This is horrific news and it always makes me wonder what is this world coming
to when tragedies like this happen. What would drive someone to randomly hurt
strangers.... *sigh*

It's utter insanity. I remember watching Columbine when I was in college and
being horrified - but it just affects me so much more now that I'm a mother. I
live in VA - and it's just that much more terrifying when it's at a school that
you've visited and knew friends at.

I grew up about an hour from Blacksburg and half of my graduating high school
class went there...some have brothers and sisters that are there
now.
Thank you for this...I feel so numb.

I went to high school in Virginia Beach, I still call it home, and half my
high school went to Tech. So far the people I know are all safe, but the whole
thing has left me so melancholy and sick. I'm praying for the safety of others.
The death count increased by ten in the time it took me to eat dinner. It's
ridiculous and unbelievable.

I have no ties to the school or town... but as any human my heart feels the
grief/sorrow of such senseless loss, my mind the anguish of such hatred. I will
never understand how one person feels it's his/her right to bestow on so many
others the torment of their unhappiness...the devastation of that place where
human life no longer shines its light, that one would choose to rob this world
of so many beautiful souls than to rid it of his/her ONE pathetic dark
existence. Why does it seem so many innocent people have to speak the warning of
hate, the screams of a need for change in our society, the desperation of a
coward with their lives...it's so unjust and tonight my heart is
drowning...
